The company initially made smartphones based mostly onMicrosoft‘s Windows Mobile operating system (OS) software, but in 2009 it began to shift its core focus away from Windows Mobile devices to devices based on Android OS, and in 2010 to Windows Phone OS as well. HTC is also a member of the Open Handset Alliance, a group of handset manufacturers and mobile network operators dedicated to the advancement of the Android mobile device platform.[8] The HTC Dream, marketed by T-Mobile in many countries as the T-Mobile G1 or Era G1 in Poland, was the first phone on the market to use the Android mobile device platform ]Sounds pretty fantastic, no? htc made some of the first mobile devices on the market, and now most people think ”htc” is a sexually transmitted desese. “HPV, HIV, HTC…”

What is Apple inc?
According to journalist Julian Baggini
“In the last 24 hours Steve Jobs has been credited with changing the way we live, the way we view technology, the way we listen to music, the way we communicate, the way we think about art, design and invention, and much, much more.”
Apple is the John Wayne of the 21st century communications frontier. And its kicking #$%!
Granted. HTC is to be accredited for the creation and initial growth of the mobile market, however Apple has done what any good american wood, Capitalized on the ideas of other to make bank.
Granted Apple holds a larger portion of the market share, Android (runs on HTC devices) has had a fairly steady increase. Some people feel this is an exciting discovery, but really, Just because the nerdy kid with his pocket protector is becoming more popular doesnt mean he’s gonna be prom king next spring.

Is this a benefit for the human race or is just another technological step backward in our attempt to have a more automated lifestyle? Personally I feel that good, well organized, accurate voice recognitions can do wonders for the human race. Just as any other tool we posess. Unfortunatly, that aslo allows for the oppertunity to misuse and abuse this newfound technology just as we have in the years past. Misuse is inevitable with any human tools, however for those of use who posess the dedication, drive, and know-how to use these technologies to the fullest of their potential, we are greatful and appriciate the ability to use them

iBoom! – the iPhone Explosion!
iPhone 4 Explodes Midflight on an Australian Airline
Explodin apple products are rare, But Explosions have happened in the past. In December 2006, apple inc. recalled the ipod nano that was sold from September 05′ – December 06′ due to the lithium ion battery’s tendancy to overheat and “pose a safty risk” according to apples website.
While on Australian flight Regional Express ZL319 Friday, a passenger’s iPhone 4 (not the iPhone 4S) suddenly started “emitting a significant amount of dense smoke, followed by a red glow.” ![]()
The plane, was flying from Lismore to Sydney, and was in the middle of landing when the iphone started acting up. Following company standard safety procedures, the flight attendant calmly addressed the situation, and the red glow was extinguished, along with the owners hope of saving any information on the phone. Sadly Enough people in general don’t make hard copies of their files anymore, most of the time thy keep all of their pictures and video’s on their coputers and mobile devices. This is a problem when the flight attendant drops your iphone in a bucket of water.
The internet media revolution
For the majority of the human experience communication has been one way, “point to public”. You sit down in front of your television, and it communicates to you all that you need to know and all that you need to buy. Or your driving in your car and the little man in the radio box tells you all about how you need to provide a better education for your children or get a better car. To go buy a bigmac NOW, because you need it. A billboard, a flier, a banner. All of these are point to public, meaning there is one point, the information source which is sending the word, out to the public. The only problem is that after the commercial runs of you drive past the billboard, that’s it. the communicator had those brief second to capture your attention and get their message across. This, unfortunately is not the best way to communicate, nor is it the best way to advertise. Recently, with the invention of the internet there has risen a new, much more effective manner of communicating a message. The best way to describe this in a good comparison would be to reference the way the the newsboys in 1899 chose to spread their message.
They reportedly found an old printing press, printed of hundreds of fliers and literally threw them from the rooftops. People would read “the banner” and then give it to someone else who passes it on to be passed on again. In this case the banner becomes much more than “point to public”, it became “point to point” to point to point to point. Each person became another broadcaster of the news. This is exactly how the internet works. Someone posts a message or uploads a link, and it spreads like wildfire. you facebook this, tweet that, and share all this tender information with everyone you know (whether they want to hear it or not).Every person becomes a potential broadcaster. This comes with pros and cons.
A smartphone is a personal computer!
So your sitting there, watching the bachelorpad or the Texas a&m game and you see this lovely commercial for this fancy new smartphone. These advertisers are doing their , and they’re doing a very, very good job. But the goal of an advertisement is to sell and Item to the public, correct? The word “advertize” is defined as the attempt to draw attention to a product to make a fact or quality known, to notify. This is all fine and dandy. So apparently the advertizers are responsible for telling us the funcions and uses for the product. Again, this is not an area where the advertizing companies are failing through radio, television, and internet ads. Problem is the mindset of the consumers and how they perceive this product “information”. They consume this media and all they think is “thats cool, i could use that…..I want it!”
BECAUSE YOU DON’T NEED IT!
This thought process is not a problem, the problem is justifying the purchase. Many people see car commercials and think “MAN! thats a tight Corvette! I want it!” but they dont go out and buy it…..why? BECAUSE THEY DON’T NEED IT! yes its expensive but you get what your paying for, unfortunatly people have become intellectually complacent and just plain lazy. They think ” thats expensive, but…maybe its not. I could use that, think of all the fancy thinks I can do with that” don’t even worry about how you did all the same things before, without this vital piece of technology, Shhhhh….. we don’t talk about that.
So the question becomes “well then Mr. blogger, what AM I supposed to buy?” Buy what you need…not what you feel you think you might be able to use. When people shop for computers they go to some techie at best buy and say “Sir, i wish to purchase a personal computer.” and the VERY first thing the techie will always say is “well…. what do you plan to do with it?” Thats the key here folks, smartphones can be classified as a PC, a personal computer. Well technically….. a calculater is a personal computer but even so! you go to buy a calculator, you ask yourself…what am I going to use it for? do I need to do graphs? do i need a texas instrument? you take your needs and match it with the options that you have. But for some reason thts not what we do with smartphones. When it comes to a smartphone all logic goes out the window, our brains kick into christmas mode with the classic “mommy mommy I want it! (dont know what im gonna do with it) but its gonna be soooo fun!” Our phones are toys. Pretty shiny little toys.
Syncing into the digital sea
We wake up in the morning, and pull our phone of the charger, checking for missed calls or text messages. As we proceed throughout our day we continue to feed ourselves into the wold-wide web. Giving information on or day to day anywhere from what we found in our teeth that morning to the date and time of our wedding reception. We feel the need to purchase these fancy, shiny, smaller, faster, super- quadro, “8th gen” devices. Why? Because EVERYBODY has been hardwired with a want to have the newest, freshest, prettiest toys, but honestly, that’s just human nature. Unfortunately, we have developed such a symbiotic relationship with our technology it can become difficult to see where our original thoughts and aspirations start and the information overflow ends. We plug in and literally sink our lives into this digital world. Hoping to pass time, satisfy a yearning or for complete social acceptance.
We have all this delicious technology that was meant to make our lives easier, more convenient, and open the doors of possibility. Yet, has it fulfilled its purpose? Has It simplified our lives? Are we better off…..than on? Plunged into this whirlpool of simulated environment. Thankfully, these questions have been answered…by other people. The affect of technology is well expressed through our modern media. I am here to condense all this wonderful information into a simple, concise cache of opinions and points of view.
Are you smarter than your smartphone?
Since the dawn of cellular time (the 1950′s) folks have been enthralled with the idea of being able to place a call on the go. Can you Believe it! A phone call….ON A BOAT!
